VersaTech helped the DOJ OJP reimagine how it works in the modern era, culminating in the build-out of a comprehensive, turnkey, and completely transformational audiovisual solution across all 175,000 square feet of the agency’s new facility.
At the heart of our solution was an entirely IP-based AV-over-IP (AVoIP) architecture that fundamentally re-engineered how the DOJ OJP would share, manage, and scale their communication assets. This network-native approach provided unprecedented flexibility, whole-system monitoring capabilities, and the ability to route any source to any destination across the entire facility. And that was only the beginning of what we built:
- 83 conferencing spaces tailored to diverse collaboration needs from intimate huddle rooms to three-way divisible conference halls
- 9 AV equipment rooms, all connected to a centralized Multimedia Resource Operations Center
- A wholly separate Communications Studio for creating broadcast-quality internal and external communications
- Facility-wide digital signage and interactive wayfinding kiosks managed through an on-premises content management system
- Custom-branded lecterns with integrated digital signage for media-facing engagements
- State-of-the-art technologies across every AV touchpoint, from networked beamforming microphone arrays to an NDI-based auto-tracking camera network
Perhaps the most critical aspect of this project was achieving Authority to Operate (ATO) certification for all networked AV devices. When existing products fell short of federal cybersecurity requirements, our team worked directly with manufacturers to develop, test, and deploy custom security patches, providing an industry-first level of ATO diligence that kept systems hardened and fully functional. This proactive approach to cybersecurity wasn’t just compliance; it was a commitment to protecting critical government infrastructure.
